Within the framework of the Program for Rehabilitation and Promotion of Angolan Cultural Heritage, jointly launched by Angola, Italy and UNESCO, many actions for preventive conservation have been taken for improving the management of collections of the Angolan museums. This article, designed as the case study, presents the key results produced by implementation of these action strategies, notably: consolidation of the institutional cadre by approval of the law on cultural heritage, preparation of projects on cultural policy and status of museums; reinforcement of professional competence in the field of preventive conservation; improvement in management of collections by launching the inventory project, stocks consolidation. Inspite of these achievements, the shortcomings are still too many, particularly those related to creation of the National Centre for Conservation and Restoration, renovation of certain museums, etc.
