The presence of this material was proved by paragenetic observations and microprobe analyses. The chemical composition of this rare phase is discussed in relation to the other compounds, wustite, fayalite, magnetite, and glass, of the paragenesis. Results suggested that iscorite is stable only in a narrow field depending on temperature and oxygen fugacity.
