Abstract
The contrast between earlywood and latewood was enhanced by coating with ZnO to facilitate measurement with the Addo-X tree ring measuring instrument. The ZnO was removed by soaking in 10% acetic acid before making x-ray densitometric studies. The previous use of legivated alumina interfered with x-ray studies because it could not be removed from the specimens. -- AATA
