Abstract
Gives information on the shrinkage and swelling behavior of veneers and particleboards at 25-65% RH. The susceptibility of various types of veneers to cracking is discussed in relation to the pore size of the wood and the thickness of the veneer. The m.c. of the veneer before use should be as low as possible and not more than 8%. Other factors considered are the quantity of glue applied, the length of the closed waiting time and the conditions in which the veneered boards are used -- AATA
