Abstract
The dynamic MOE was determined by ultrasonic testing during a 22-month study of the decaying of beech (Fagus sylvatica) wood specimens by mixed decay fungi. Results were compared with data for the static MOE (by static bending) and visual and hardness tests. The dynamic method appeared to be applicable but was less sensitive to weight loss than the static method during the first 10 months. -- AATA
