Abstract
Egyptian sandstone monuments in Thebes, Luxor and Karnak erected by Akhenaten (reigned 1375-1358 B.C.) were destroyed and the stones reused by subsequent rulers. The author, an archaeologist, describes the work of excavating and reconstructing the razed monuments. -- AATA
