Ellagic acid, stigmasterol, beta-sitosterol, betulin, alpha-amyrenone, baueranol, ursolic acid, betulinic acid, alpha-amyrin, 6-hydroxy-4, 5-dimethoxy-2-naphthoic acid and its methyl ester were isolated from the stem bark of <i>D. ebenum</i>, which is reported to have medicinal and insecticidal properties. -- AATA
