Colored pattern is a special decoration for Chinese traditional architecture. Traditional technique and material on it and it also has a significant meaning for restoration work could been found. The paper has introduced the progress of research on conservation and restoration of colored pattern on physical - chemical properties, traditional technique and material, conservation method. Paper also points out the future work on this field should be basic theory study, technical standardization for maintaining and restoring. The object of this is to establish the principal for conservation of colored pattern with Chinese features.
