The recommendations drawn up by the participants of the International Consultation of Rock Art Specialists held on September 3-5, 1981, at the Centro Camuno di Studi Preistorica, Valcamonica (Italy) included the rapid completion of the ICOMOS International Index of Rock Art Specialists; the study of new applications of recording techniques such as photo-grammetry; the creation of an ICOM International Committee for Conservation working group on rock art; and the organization of training courses on the conservation of rock art in various regions.
