Mainly based on stylistic evidence and deposits found associated with this pottery, the provenance of each piece discussed is suggested. Scientific techniques of provenance attribution are mentioned only in passing, although mo scientific studies by J. Evans give analysis results on dark organic residues remaining in two pots: one contained resin and a residue derived from wine; the other a mixture of bitumen, gelatin and fat. -- AATA
