Abstract
During the middle Neolithic on the east coast of Sweden, pottery tempered with calcareous materials was introduced. Dissolution of the temper has left a porous ceramic. In Norway, a porous ceramic is found from the early Neolithic. The Norwegian material differs from the Swedish, in that it appears to have been tempered with bone. It is thus comparable with pottery from France and Belgium. -- AATA
