Four-hundred year old rag papers were exposed-some as long as 20 years ago-to different cleaning and disinfection baths and treated in various ways with fungicides. Chemical, analytical, and biological examinations were carried out on the treated papers, which had been coated with thiuram or impregnated with captan. These studies of longterm effects of fungicides in treated paper samples will be continued. See also AATA 7-1129 for further information on use of fungicides.
