Abstract
Reports on the current status of the development of this tandem accelerator system, which has been adapted for the quantitative measurement of the rare isotopes <sup>14</sup>C and <sup>10</sup>Be in milligram samples. Because existing Van de Graaf accelerators cannot sustain the intense currents of the abundant stable isotopes, a fast switching system in which the stable isotopes are only injected in short pulses was developed. The results are given of tests run with carbon and BeO standards in order to check the performance, stability, sensitivity, and reproducibility of the system. The system showed a high sensitivity and accuracy for both <sup>14</sup>C and <sup>10</sup>Be isotope measurements. -- AATA
