Abstract
A description of the materials used and the technique of painting is given on the results obtained with electron diffraction, x-rayfluorescence, and micro x-ray spectrometry. In the pigment layers were found: Egyptian blue together with clay minerals, green earth, yellow, red, and brownish orche earths. On a rough coat of 2-3 cm. thickness a fine trimming coat of 1 mm was applied, then a layer of 20 micron thickness containing lime and marble dust, and finally lime with fine sand containing the pigments. Except for the blues and reds, all colors seem to have been applied in true fresco. -- AATA
