Analysis of data obtained in laboratory investigations covered problems of the content of temper admixture in pottery mass, granulometric composition, the amount of artificial admixture in the temper, kind of admixture, technique of manufacturing the vessels and hardness of the ceramics. The results of examinations show the tendency to obtain a ceramic paste most suitable for turning. This was obtained by careful choice of temper components. Coarse-grained components of the admixture gave way to fine-grained and there was a gradual growing hardness of the vessels. In the 17th century there was an evident retrospective tendency in the technique of pottery-making relating to the Late Medieval traditions. -- AATA
