East Cretan white-on-dark ware, a hand-made pottery used on Crete a century before and a century after 2000 B.C., is described: its clay, vessel function, and design. This project was undertaken to reconstract the technology; to obtain a greater understanding of the stylistic development; and to acquire more information about the relation between the pottery from the type site and the stylistically similar ware from other sites in that area of Crete.
