Abstract
What is needed for the accurate determination of the specific gravity of a cosmetic cream of medium or stiff consistency is a method that involves the least possible working of the cream so that air is neither introduced into the emulsion nor removed from it in the course of the determination. Two such methods have been used with success by the writer. One is of general application to creams of medium or stiff consistency, and is somewhat more accurate, whereas the other is less general in application but has some advantage from the standpoint of ease of manipulation.
