Abstract
C*h13*s-FTNMR is a sophisticated non-destructive spectroscopic technique widely exploited in organic chemistry which we are now introducing into conservational studies. The technique allows a unique insight to be developed into the composition of complex natural products since computer enhancement and spectral-stripping techniques allow detailed spectroscopic identification without physical separation of the components. Studies of varnish type media, shich form part of a larger program aimed at whole-body nmr analysis, are described.
