Abstract
The solubility of cesium permanganate in water at temperatures a few degrees above 0 degrees C, is lower than that of any other metal permanganate. At 1 degree C a saturated solution has only a faint violet tint, and the solubility product of the salt at this temperature is .000015. This indicates the possibility of practically quantitative precipitation, at least in a sufficiently concentrated cesium solution at a low temperature in the presence of a sufficiently high concentration of permanganate.
