Abstract
Ceramics produced during the Cáñamo-Monticulo Phase (860 BC) were analyzed by traditional taxonomic, mineralogical, and petrographical criteria. The methods used to determine dating included radio carbon and thermoluminescence. The purpose is to establish regional comparisons and connections with the early agrarian settlements in the Piedmont and lowlands. Results of analyses are given. Ceramic is evaluated as an indicator of movement and change during a span of time, characterized by the spread over an ample sphere of interaction, covering forest, high plateau and coast (1,300-400 BC). The real nature of this trend is partially known in the Central-Southern Andean area. -- AATA
