The Derveni Krater, dated in the decade 330-320 B.C., is a masterpiece of the metalwork of the 4th century B.C. The main body of the vase is decorated with the Passion of Dionysios in relief. Four attached cast statuettes adorn the shoulder of the vase. The study of the technique employed for this krater supplies some extremely important information about the evolution of metalwork during the 2nd half of the 4th century B.C. -- AATA
