Archaeometry is a relatively new discipline that involves the application of physical and biological sciences in archaeology. It helps to determine the origins of the starting materials, the dating and technology of manufacture of the artifacts and leads to a better understanding of the creativity, sensitivity and way of thinking of the men and women who manufactured and utilized the examined artifacts.
