Abstract
The main cause of deterioration is moisture which causes spots, cracks due to the corrosion of iron structures, salt crystallization, attack of constituent materials. The stucco is mainly gypsum in the surface layer but lime prevails in the core, and proteins and oils are also present. The stucco has been cleaned and disinfected, and consolidated with barium hydroxide. Injections of lime gypsum mixture have been made for re-attachment. See also AATA 19-1790. -- AATA
