Abstract
The aim of the present work was to study what effect the addition of adhesives into paper pulp has on the solidity of the fillings of deteriorated documents. Three products were tested: a cationic starch, polyvinyl alcohol fibers, and a carboxymethyl-cellulose. Various concentrations of adhesives were tried either singly or in combinations. Papers were filled with the pulp and glue admixtures; artificial aging was applied to the formulas that gave the best results. The study showed that the adhesives markedly increased the resistance of the integrations. We selected a starch and polyvinyl alcohol fibers. -- AATA
