An account of the conservation of the Bakócz chasuble is provided. Arguments are raised concerning whether the fabric and the needlework had belonged together originally. The phases and process of restoration are presented with emphasis on sewing methods and the necessity of appropriate support materials. (See also AATA 21-490).
