Films of polymethyl methacrylate cast from solutions using solvents of different thermodynamic quality were found to be morphologically distinct. Important variations have been documented in the barrier properties of these films to selected contact liquids. Penetration of the PMMA films was found to be very much less in films formed from thermodynamically good solvents than those formed from weaker solvents. -- AATA
