Abstract
Scientific research in paper conservation since 1988 is discussed and summarized. Research on chemical, physical, and optical properties of paper and on the aging of paper is outlined. A synopsis is given of recent findings in paper conservation concerned with washing, bleaching, solvents, enzymes, and sizing. -- SCMRE
