In the coming years the training of personnel for the GDR's history museums will assume greater importance: it is a matter of presenting ever better exhibits to expand, reinforce, and propagate the Marxist-Leninist view and consciousness of history. A large number of this personnel is trained at the College of Museology in Leipzig. The article analyzes the tasks which have emerged in training and research, from which the authors justify the new curriculum for the discipline of museum science and points out some conclusions for further work. -- AATA
