Abstract
Traditional adhesives and adhesion methods often fail to come up to the requirements posed by glueing in restorative work. The College of Visual Art developed the Salie 83 synthetic heat-seal glue which is a material with the properties of a modern adhesive suitable by use for restorers and conservators. Salie 83 is relatively easy to manufacture and use, hardly penetrates and is creep-resistant. Glueings are reversible. It can be used in the restoration of paintings, and wood, textile, paper, and metal objects.
