Techniques are discussed for the preparation of samples for micro infrared analysis using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectometry. Routine samples are prepared by dispersion of the material in KBr and compressing in 0.5-1 mm steel apertures. Sample sizes for this technique are 0.5-10mug. Smaller samples are mounted in the aperture of watch jewels (0.15-0.35 mm). This allows analysis of samples down to 50 ng. -- AATA
