It is shown theoreticaly that the infrared method, unlike most other indirect methods of determining moisture content, is independent of the wood density and bulk density of wood particles. Laboratory analyses confirmed that the calibration curve of the relative reflectivity against wood moisture content was not significantly different for aspen, birch, pine, or spruce particles of different bulk densities. -- AATA
