Abstract
Among well-preserved organic materials from this recently-raised ship (wrecked 1545) were pitch remains, six samples of which were analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry and infrared spectroscopy. The chemical characteristics of the pitch correspond to Stockholm tar -i.e., derived from pine wood. -- AATA
