Abstract
Presents the results of the study of casting alloy chemical compositions of a series of monumental sculptures. Experiments using appropriate test tubes were conducted in monitored atmospheric conditions and under conditions of accelerated corrosion in order to determine the properties of copper, simple and multicomponent brasses and bronzes. A dependent relationship was established among the composition of the phases, the structure, and the decorative and protective properties of the patinas as a function of the content of additive elements in the alloy.
