Article on the use of acrylic resin and the low-pressure apparatus in the preservation of paintings on canvas. The binding media traditionally used and the harmful use of old waxresin mixture is discussed. Levelling consolidation of the paint layer and a possible relining are described. The strengthening of stretcher margins and the treatment of tears in the canvas are outlined.
