This report consists of excerpts from a lecture given by Ms. Bullock to the Textile Conservation Group. The structure of tapestries is discussed in detail. Problems commonly found in tapestries are listed: degradation of stitches closing slits, holes, folds, alterations, and fading. Problems associated with previous treatments such as reweaving and linen linings are men-tioned. A brief discussion of conservation treatments currently in use at the Gardner Museum concludes the lecture. -- AATA
