The aim of this study was to extend the historical knowledge of the development of the Ganado style Navaho rugs between 1890-1920. Available correspondence by one of the owners of an Indian trading post in order to document the exchange of ideas between customer, trader and weaver is reviewed. Paintings of rugs are analyzed and compared to rugs woven subsequent to the studies. -- AATA
