The deterioration and subsequent conservation treatment of an intricate paper cut-out is discussed. Removal of staining and residual adhesive was attempted by washing, bleaching with chloride dioxide gas and by treating with a solution of pancreatin enzyme. The scheren-schnitt was remounted on a new backing using a polyvinyl acetate/microcrystalline wax hot melt mixture. -- AATA
