Abstract
In southern Germany a continuous dendrochronology of oaks over 2350 years was set up first of all by trees from river deposits. During the last years a great number of Roman timbers could be dated. The fact that many trees were used with their bark intact permitted a precise determination of their felling dates. -- AATA
