Archaeological restoration includes the restoration of the excavation finds, movable or not. Its role and contribution are very important because it minimizes the shock and disastrous effects to which the finds are subjected at the critical moment of their discovery. Therefore, restoration has in addition a preventive character since, if done correctly and in time during an excavation, it will make unnecessary a lot of restoration work in the future. -- AATA
