Abstract
We present here a first draft for the classification of the various types of alteration. Three large groups of causes were considered: time (patina, in its wide sense), technique of execution (materials and methods), and cleaning techniques (degree of intervention). These causes affect certain characters of the paint layer, notably the state of the surface, thus modifying the perception of the image. -- AATA
