Abstract
The twenty panels of the polyptych are briefly described. The major events of their history, especially technical treatments, are mentioned. The paint layer contains the same pigments as those identified in the Bouts altarpiece. The medium has a drying oil base. A translucent film with a drying oil base was discovered between paint and ground.
