Abstract
An exploration of the need for setting preservation priorities in libraries on an aggregate (not item-by-item) basis. Theoretical models from information science may be useful in decision-making. Collection developers must also be collection managers (with analogies to conservation administration). The author advocates a shift in focus from the artifacts to the people involved with them. -- ICCROM
