Abstract
A major problem is that artists and crafts people are working with a wide variety of hazardous materials without adequate precautions, and usually without even the knowledge that these materials are dangerous. Common hazardous materials are: paint and varnish removers, dyes and pigments, metal dusts and fumes, metallic compounds, asbestos, silica-containing clays and stones, plastics resins, glues and many others.
