The results of two years' conservation and restoration efforts on the H.W. Sage Collection of plaster casts of classical sculpture at Cornell University are presented. In the absence of published information on plaster cast cleaning, advice from other institutions with similar collections was sought, received, and followed. The many methods and techniques suggested, most notably the use of starch poultices, were tested; new ones were developed; and the results are reported along with comments on the success (or failure) of each.
