Abstract
In February 1993, this icon was entrusted to the care of the SRMN (Service de Restauration des Musées de France). Following a bilateral agreement between the French and Albanian Ministries of Culture, the restoration work was to be carried out by a French specialist and, at the same time, was to serve as training material for two Albanian restorers, one from the Korçë Museum and the other from the Institute of Monuments in Tirana, Albania. A recent overpainting was eliminated during the first collaborative phase of the project. The author completed the restoration from July 1994 to May 1996.
