Abstract
It is difficult to evaluate the effectiveness of conservation/restoration training mainly because follow-up on results is lacking. Within the framework of PREMA (Prévention dans les Musées Africains), ICCROM attempted a new approach to ensure the profitability of training. Three weeks of training on the theme of museum climate control were integrated into a comparative climate study project which will be carried out by the participants for a year, and whose results will be published collectively. The author reports on the methodology of the project, on the first results obtained, and on the training methods and teaching tools used, all allowing for a steady follow-up of this interactive one-year project.
