Describes the removal of a fossilized Scelidosaurus dinosaur skeleton from a limestone nodule from the Lias of Charmouth, Dorset. This was done by a variation on the acetic acid technique where phosphates forming the greater part of fossil bone are not attacked by dilute acetic acid, while the carbonates in the rocky matrix dissolve, weakening the rock which can then be removed by needles and brushes.
