Abstract
The more even distribution, speed of application, lack of residues and need for less equipment gives phosphine a distinct advantage over methyl bromide in the case of storage structures described here. If the price can also be competitive then subject to no objection from the buyers of cocoa, phosphine could come into use as a routine fumigant for cocoa in the storage sheds at Ikeja.
