Abstract
The influence of solvents/plasticizers, poly(vinyl alcohol), inorganic fillers, and organic extenders on the properties of poly(vinyl acetate) adhesives is demonstrated. Modifications in properties range from lower viscosity to improved water resistance. The effect of various solvents/plasticizers, inorganic fillers, etc. on the properties of dispersion adhesives for wood, paper, and building applications was investigated. In particular, the influences of various solvents on minimum film-forming temperature are demonstrated. Also studied was the effect of poly(vinyl alcohol) on open time, viscosity, durability, etc. See also AATA Vol. 21, Abstract No. 1655, PARIS No. 75729 for related research. -- AATA
