A report and summaries are presented of papers read at a meeting concerned with the non-destructive measurement of the thickness of coatings, held at the Technische Akademie, Esslingen. The measurement techniques considered include magnetic, eddy current, coulometric, capacitive and beta-ray backscattering procedures. The equipment used is described and the measurement of multilayer coatings is covered. The measurement of the thickness of lead coatings by the coulometric method is mentioned. -- AATA
